The author forgot to mention a Tabatabai fellow, one of Khomeini's early collaborators, who was murdered in France around 1980-81. Just to show Khomeini's gratitude. This assassination got little attention in the American media at the time. There has been no improvement since then, has there?

The author also forgot the group of about a dozen Jews from Ispahan [if I'm not mistaken] who were sentenced to spying for Israel some years ago. I searched the Amnesty Int'l site about them and saw one mention of their case in a general item about Iran. When Amnesty really wants to help somebody they have something to say about him every week. Michael, you don't take Amnesty seriously as a "human rights" organization, do you?

Thanks for sharing, a lot of this is new to me! But you forgot to add that they've made it acceptable to claim the holocaust is a myth. Great progress indeed.

Iranian nation achieved a lot:
1. Convinced North Koreans to assemble their nuclear bombs in Iran instead of North Korea so Iran can claim home grown nuclear progress like it's home grown pistachews.

2. Convinced North Koreans not to destroy their old missiles and sell them to Iran instead so Iran can claim it has the knowledge to devise such things.

3. Convinced Russians to use Bushehr as their nuclear dump site so that they won't have another Chernoble accident on their territory.

4. Convinced terrorists every where to get on the government of Iran's payroll so that they can have free healthcare and veterans benefits for their families which allows Iran to claim victory over Israel if a war breaks out as these Sunni terrorists will be defending their Shia brothers because they will be indebted to us.

5. Convinced Iranians to continue eating less so that their food can be sent to support Sunni Hamas soldiers who promised to defend their Shia benefactors if Israel attacks Iran.

As you can see above, we have achieved great progress in the Islamic Republic of Iran in the past 30 years.
