An ex-member of Germany’s far right neo-nazi NPD party speaks to Spiegel.de about his experiences there, their ideology, and their support base. I recommend the whole interview, but here’s an excerpt that really gets to the bottom line:

SPIEGEL ONLINE: What kind of politics do these gentlemen dream of?

Luthardt: Of the German Reich. They’re totally convinced that they’ll win an election one day and that things will really get going. Everyone can imagine what would happen then.

We certainly can. Let’s hope that Germany is up to the task of preventing it.
