Just like Hollywood, the mainstream media is finding that no matter how friendly it is, the Iranian regime will always bite back. They can demand all they want, but Iran will do as it pleases. The media has created its own worst enemy.
NEW YORK (AP) — The Associated Press has joined several other major news outlets in demanding that Iran specify how a detained American journalist broke the law, and that the country allow an outside group to evaluate her health and living conditions.
AP Executive Editor Kathleen Carroll issued a statement Tuesday afternoon urging the Iranian government to make charges against 31-year-old Roxana Saberi public or release her if she’s not formally charged.
In a separate letter earlier in the day, top news officials at NPR, ABC, BBC, PBS, The Wall Street Journal, Fox News Channel and Feature Story News made the same demand.
Saberi is a dual citizen of the U.S. and Iran and freelance journalist. Iranian officials detained Saberi about a month ago.
