What the hell?

Picture of Mr. Aspey dressed in Nazi uniformA TOWN councillor who sparked outrage after posing as a Nazi officer for a fancy dress party has had his suspension lifted.

The Welsh Liberal Democrats said they would be taking no further action against Porthcawl town councillor Sean Aspey.

The councillor posted pictures of himself in German World War II uniform from his 40th birthday party at a Porthcawl pub on social networking website Facebook. Mr Aspey wore the outfit as part of a fancy dress theme based on 1980s TV sitcom ’Allo ’Allo!

It was also revealed on the website that he had joined internet groups making jokes about serial killers Fred West and Harold Shipman.

When challenged, he said he was “just having a laugh”, adding: “I have rather a great sense of humour. I tend to see things in a funny light.”

Apparently someone who trivializes genocide and serial murder is the kind of person that is fit to serve in office in the UK.

There’s a right prat, that one.

How is a parody trivializing? What are your thoughts on ‘The Great Dictator’?

  3. Alan Caine says:

Yeah, get some perspective. Allo Allo was on national TV and everyone loved it. Do you think he’s making a reference to the programme, or do you firmly believe that he thought trivialising genocide would be a good idea?
