I have worked with the Federal Government for 11 years and recently left and I cannot begin to tell you how the government is continuing to short change me as an employee. I resigned at the end of February and was told I owe them a whole bunch of money from past errors made by our compensation officers. As far back as 2005 and and before they give me my last pay they are conducting a full review. I should mention they did the same thing in 2008 when I left on a MAT leave. They are recovering funds from 7 years ago and this would never happen in the private sector. I have no recourse since the unions are working with the government and have never represented me once when I needed them. No one ever hears about this stuff because it just gets barried but as a Canadian Citizen and former Public Servant I can assure you that the regular workers do not have the cushie benefits the public thinks we have. Basically they reserve the right the take money from us wheenever the want. Worst job in Canada and would not recomment it to my worst enemy... food for thought Sorry but I have to agree with the last reply. These over paid "employees" are first and foremost political party members, long before they were government employees. They have no qualifications except a degree in Pork and patronage and are always managers of PC orientated and ineffective departments.
